As you may know, part of my day job is running the Tots100, Foodies100 and HIBS100 blogging communities – and every so often, we like to invite our members along to one of our free conferences for a day of chatting about all things blog-related.
Last weekend saw our BlogCamp conference hit Birmingham, where around 100 bloggers came together for a day of blog-talk. And cake. We always have cake. I felt pretty proud of this – our 10th BlogCamp, and we’re still able to keep them completely free for the bloggers who attend.
These events are always fun, not least because they’re a chance to put faces and voices to Twitter avatars and blog posts. They’re also a chance to be inspired and pick up tips from people who have all sorts of skills that I don’t, or who approach things in a completely different way. As organiser, sadly, I didn’t get a chance to sit in all the sessions during the day, but I caught sessions on photography, travel, collaboration and working with brands, and was really impressed by the tips offered by the bloggers who spoke at BlogCamp.
Thanks to all those speakers for sharing your expertise, and I hope you won’t mind me sharing my 10 favourite blogging tips from the event:
If you came along to BlogCamp you can check out posts about the day from other bloggers over on the Tots100 site.
Love all the above tips. Shame I wasn’t able to go. Come to london next 😉
Thanks Mirka 🙂
I know, we haven’t been to London in a long time. I do have an idea for something, though…
Love that photo of us all-you captured the intimacy and joy of Blog Camp. Thanks again for asking me to speak, it was a real honour-congrats to you and the team too on such a successful even. Fab post with great tips too!
Thanks so much, it was amazing to meet you finally, looking forward to seeing what you do next 🙂
Great post! Love the tips from some of the people I respect most. So sad to have missed BlogCamp and hope to be at the next one 🙂 x
Thanks for the great post and all the advice 🙂
Is there a Blog Camp coming up in London any time soon?
Thanks for sharing this, I was gutted that I couldn’t make it (friend’s 40th birthday shenanigans), and really hope I can make the next one.
