Last week, I went to an event that made me very happy – the nice folks at Getpaidto invited a bunch of bloggers to the London Eye to find out about the launch of their new site.
It was a gloriously sunny, clear day and the views from the London Eye were spectacular – and the champagne and canapés didn’t hurt either.
If you haven’t heard of it, Getpaidto is rather a clever site where you can go before you buy pretty much anything online – and save money. You might earn cash-back, you might get a special discount, or you might earn points in your Getpaidto account, which can be cashed out or turned into gift vouchers for major retailers. It’s a bit of a no-brainer if you can remember to do it, isn’t it?
Getpaidto also conducted research that shows 80% of us love to shop to get happy. It’s painfully true – I’ll admit that buying something new for the house often cheers me up on a crappy day. Or booking a holiday, although for obvious reasons that only works about once or twice a year. But not all cheering up needs to cost a fortune – I asked around some blogging chums are here are 50 simple, quick and inexpensive ways to boost your mood when you’re feeling blue:
Some great suggestions there. Thanks for including mine 🙂
I would like to add – completing a To Do list (obviously don’t make it too long), cooking, an early night with a good book, eating (I’m not really fussy what but I prefer savoury), and not eating and feeling virtuous about it. Wine is also good.
It’s cake all the way for me 🙂 I do love the spa too though x
Fab list Sally will bookmark!!
Love this, lots of relaxing inspiration, perfect for the weekend. Fab location for a meeting too. Thanks for including me in your round up 🙂
As I scrolled down this list I was like “Yes! That too! Definitely! Oh, that’s me! I am so wise! Why didn’t I think of that? Yes! This! Running? Oh I don’t think so. What madness is that?!”
Thanks for including my excellent suggestion!
It was lovely seeing you & chatting at the event. If you had asked me, I would have added: Going for a run or swim! #Fitness4Mamas #FitnessTuesday 😉
I love ELO Mr Blue Sky, it always makes me happy. Some great tips here, its amazing, actually being bored is impossible if you follow the tips above. Sometimes having nothing to do is lovely, to give you time for the simple things.
I feel like I should use this as a checklist and tick stuff off each week. 🙂
Great suggestions xx
I love this list – so many little things to do to help chase the blues away. Ten minutes on my own followed by a hug from the kids always works well for me as does the opportunity to sit in a coffee shop eating cake and watching the world go by 🙂
