Luxury All-Inclusive Holiday in Mexico

Today I’m sharing our luxury all-inclusive holiday in Mexico.

Sometimes when we go on holiday, we go to museums, and walk the city streets, grabbing food from local stalls, and soaking in the atmosphere. Other times we throw ourselves into adventurous activities, riding tall swings, renting kayaks and bikes and exploring the countryside.

Then there are times we take classes, learning how to make something new, or see something different.

This was not that sort of holiday.

This was a week of sunshine, reading books, relaxing and taking it easy.

We headed to Mexico for a luxury all-inclusive holiday on a last-minute whim, using up Avios and abusing my credit card. We booked into a five-star, all-inclusive resort and we did — nothing, basically. A whole lot of nothing.

I feel like I should feel guilty. That the trip wasn’t as educational, or adventurous, or something, as it might have been. But then I look at my girl, with a smile on her face and sun-kissed skin and, you know what?

I’m good with it.

There’s a lot to be said for a luxury break once in a while. Who doesn’t want to sleep in an enormous bed with crisp white cotton sheets and 24-hour room service?

Add in a spa, great food in five different restaurants and three swimming pools and what more could you want?

If you fancy a luxury break yourself, you can check out our review of the Riviera Maya here.

  1. Just booked my first foreign holiday in 5 years and my first as a single mum and I’d love this kind of holiday but I suspect it will be far from it. Reading this has geared me right up for it though!
